About the Role
At Olympic Dam, Bulk Material Handling Operators play a vital role in supporting the smelter’s operations. This hands‑on role involves operating specialised vehicles to safely transport molten slag from electric furnaces to designated cooling and storage areas. You will work with heavy equipment in high‑risk environments, managing bulk materials such as slag, sand and anodes while upholding the highest safety standards. Operators work with a variety of heavy equipment to support material handling and maintenance activities across the site, while strictly following safety procedures and site regulations. • Operate excavators, dump trucks, haulers, loaders, mobile crushers, MTS and integrated tool carriers. • Transport molten slag, sand and anodes to cooling and storage areas. • Perform loading, unloading, relocation and distribution of bulk materials. • Support slag pot management, electric furnace slag processing, sand processing and anode haulage.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold the required licences and certifications, possess relevant construction experience, demonstrate strong communication and a proactive safety mindset, and be able to meet medical and background check requirements. • Hold a HR (or higher) driver’s licence and a White Card. • Hold tickets for front‑end loader, excavator and integrated tool carrier (preferred). • Demonstrated civil construction experience. • Strong communication skills and a proactive, safety‑conscious attitude. • Complete an in‑clinic medical, drug and alcohol testing and obtain a clean police check.

Benefits
The position is permanent and follows a standard 2‑weeks‑on, 1‑week‑off roster, typically one week of day shifts followed by one week of night shifts, with some flexibility to meet operational needs.
