About the Role
Under general supervision the engineer will provide field support on projects including site assessments, remediation, compliance programs, Phase I environmental site assessments, and sampling/monitoring. Responsibilities also cover subsurface investigations, quality‑control procedures, engineering calculations, cost estimating, data validation, and the preparation of technical reports and documentation. • Provide field support for site assessment, remediation, compliance programs, Phase I ESA, and sampling/monitoring. • Conduct subsurface investigations including drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging, and environmental media sampling. • Maintain quality‑control standards to ensure accurate and precise measurements. • Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and prepare technical reports. • Document field procedures, manage data, and create graphical and tabular presentations. • Assist in verifying site characteristics and deliver entry‑level technical assistance on environmental issues. • Generate accurate documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks. • Collaborate with project managers to meet client objectives, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. • Follow safety guidelines, sample collection protocols, and maintain comprehensive logbooks. • Complete assigned training and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies. • Work independently under general supervision and as part of a team to achieve business objectives. • Maintain a solid workplace safety record and comply with health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

What You Bring
The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental, civil, geological engineering or a related discipline, with 0‑1 years of relevant experience. Required qualities include strong research and analytical skills, familiarity with environmental regulations, effective communication, self‑leadership, attention to detail, the ability to work independently and in teams, basic technical writing proficiency, and a proven safety record. Preferred qualifications comprise Engineer‑in‑Training certification, OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training with refresher, DOT hazardous‑materials training, CPR/First Aid certification, relevant internships, and active participation in professional organizations. • Utilize Microsoft Office, technical writing, and data analysis skills effectively. • Hold a B.S. or M.S. in environmental, civil, or geological engineering (or related field). • Possess 0‑1 years of relevant post‑education experience with strong research and analytical abilities. • Understand relevant environmental laws, regulations, and compliance record‑keeping requirements. • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences. • Exhibit self‑leadership, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment. • Be flexible to work extended hours, travel locally, nationally, and internationally, and lift up to 50 lb. • Preferred: Engineer in Training certification; OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER with refresher; DOT hazardous‑materials training; CPR/First Aid certification; prior internship; active professional organization involvement.
