What You Bring
NV5 Geospatial is actively recruiting an Ontologist to deliver DoD ontology project deliverables, including ontology development, knowledge graph integration, and support for geospatial and all‑source analysis. The position is remote, supporting US Southern Command, and requires US citizenship and a basic background check; while no clearance is mandatory, a Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening. Although no security clearance is required, candidates must be eligible for a clearance, and U.S. citizens may be subject to government security investigations for access to classified information. • Hold a Master’s degree (or 11 years equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Science, AI, Geospatial Science, GIS, Data Science, or related fields. • Expertise in ontology design, semantic data modeling, and advanced SPARQL query development. • Proficiency with W3C RDF, OWL, SHACL, and frameworks such as Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) and Common Core Ontologies (CCO). • Experience using the Stardog Knowledge Graph platform. • Skilled in Java and Python for ontology‑driven application development; Bash scripting for automation tasks. • Hands‑on experience with Esri ArcGIS data tools. • Background in DevSecOps, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipeline implementation. • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and collaborative project management skills. • Preferred: proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish and experience with government IT programs. • Clearance: none required; Secret or TS/SCI preferred; U.S. citizenship mandatory.
