About the Role
In this role, the engineer will support geotechnical and environmental engineering tasks across a range of infrastructure projects, including site investigations, design concepts, and construction of foundations, tunnels, dams, slopes, pipelines, and related structures. The work will be performed under general supervision, with an emphasis on quality documentation and compliance with industry standards. • Gather and analyze physical site data, including soil, water, rock samples, surveys, blueprints, and GIS matrices. • Perform quality‑control measurements and statistical analysis of geotechnical and environmental data. • Conduct subsurface investigations, foundation engineering, settlement analysis, and slope‑stability assessments for various project types. • Provide entry‑level technical assistance on design requirements, safety strategies, and functionality of infrastructure systems. • Verify site characteristics and support environmental, design, and construction issues related to rock and soil mechanics. • Create tables, charts, sketches, calculations, and illustrations to visualize findings and support reports. • Contribute to technical reports and presentations that communicate research outcomes and mitigation recommendations. • Assist in developing and implementing site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and risk‑mitigation action plans. • Apply engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, gINT, OpenGround Cloud, RocScience, GeoSlope, HEC‑RAS/HMS. • Maintain flexibility to work project‑specific schedules, including travel and weekend assignments as needed.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geological or Geotechnical Engineering and have up to one year of relevant experience. They should possess strong research and analytical abilities, basic knowledge of subsurface investigation, rock and soil mechanics, and be proficient with technical writing and common engineering software. Preferred credentials include Engineer-in-Training certification, prior internships, professional organization involvement, and completion of OSHA HAZWOPER or MSHA training.
