About the Role
In this role you will represent the firm with clients, contractors, architects and other project team members while delivering trade‑specific system designs, layouts, and calculations using CAD/BIM tools. You will coordinate with other disciplines, establish design parameters, oversee QA/QC, and collaborate on scheduling, staffing and budgeting. Additional duties include construction administration, field inspections, processing RFIs and change orders, managing technical staff, preparing proposals, presenting to trade organizations, and estimating construction costs. • Represent the firm with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams. • Deliver trade‑specific system designs, layouts, and calculations using CAD/BIM. • Coordinate designs with other trades in collaboration with senior staff. • Establish system application, design, and operational parameters. • Oversee QA/QC processes for own work and that of others. • Collaborate on project scheduling, staffing, and budgeting. • Perform construction administration, field inspections, and detailed reports. • Process RFIs, change orders, bulletins, and addenda. • Manage assigned CAD/BIM and technical staff. • Assist with employee performance reviews. • Prepare engineering proposals under senior guidance. • Participate in trade organizations and deliver presentations. • Estimate construction costs and evaluate feasibility with ROM analysis. • Support dynamic Employee Resource Groups and competitive PTO.

What You Bring
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a PE license, with at least twelve years of consulting experience. Proficiency in Revit, the latest AutoCAD MEP, and trade‑specific design software is essential, as is the ability to produce red‑line markups and interpret complex construction documents. Knowledge of applicable codes is mandatory, and experience with SKM software for short‑circuit coordination and arc‑flash studies is highly preferred. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. • Possess at least 12 years consulting experience. • Proficient in Revit and latest AutoCAD MEP. • Able to create red‑line markups for CAD personnel. • Skilled in reading and visualizing floor plans and 3‑D construction models. • Expert in trade‑specific design and calculation software. • Knowledgeable of applicable codes; PE license required. • Preferred experience with SKM software for short‑circuit and arc‑flash studies.
