About the Role
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining production continuity at our life sciences facility. This position combines hands‑on technical expertise with adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing environment, covering hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, plumbing and specialized facility systems while ensuring regulatory compliance. • Perform preventative maintenance tasks via Maximo job plans within deadlines to ensure optimal equipment performance. • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and plumbing components such as toilets, urinals, water fountains, sinks, and piping. • Repair mechanical HVAC systems, including fans, motors, coil cleaning, filter replacement, pumps, bearings, air handlers, and cooling towers. • Monitor and maintain leak detection systems, service plant steam components, and conduct facility inspections reporting conditions affecting client operations. • Perform minor repairs on site vehicles, forklifts, scissor lifts, dock levelers, and garage doors. • Update CMMS work order status accurately and promptly, escalating issues to management as needed. • Participate in on‑call rotation and follow all safety procedures, maintaining clean work environments and proper hazardous material handling.

What You Bring
The role is based onsite in East Syracuse, NY, with a Monday‑through‑Friday shift from 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM and a 24‑hour on‑call rotation. Compensation is estimated at $22.00–$26.00 per hour, and the position does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. • High school diploma or equivalent with a valid state driver’s license. • Minimum 1 year of experience in general building repair, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work. • Ability to lift at least 50 lb and safely use ladders up to 30 ft. • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent oral and written English communication skills. • Willingness to join on‑call rotation and adhere to GDP standards. • Team‑oriented approach with ability to work independently when required. • Capability to work in crawl spaces, closets, vaults, and at heights up to 30 ft. • 2–3 years of experience in general building repair, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work. • Completion of technical training program with experience in CMMS (preferably Maximo). • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environments. • Knowledge of HVAC maintenance and repair, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems. • Familiarity with leak detection systems and life‑sciences facility requirements.
