About the Role
The Plant Maintenance Technician is tasked with monitoring and maintaining all plant systems and equipment, reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager and ensuring safe, efficient operation. • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment such as balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, bearings, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment. • Conduct Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) and maintain the inspection backlog. • Diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components in compliance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA regulations. • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules; notify the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager of any additional work or delays beyond Standard Repair Times. • Inspect and assess the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds. • Recommend improvements to production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality. • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls and operate effectively with limited supervision. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with corporate and OSHA standards. • Work in both indoor plant environments and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. • Multi-task and manage multiple priorities while adhering to a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends.

What You Bring
The position requires strict adherence to safety standards, including WM Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA regulations, and the maintenance of a clean, safe work environment. Candidates must have relevant experience, be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, capable of meeting the job’s physical demands, and able to pass pre-employment screenings. • Required qualifications: minimum 2 years of relevant experience, at least 18 years of age, legal authorization to work in the U.S., ability to perform physical requirements, successful completion of drug screen and physical.
