About the Role
Key responsibilities include creating enterprise‑wide category strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to align demand and contracts, conducting spend and total cost of ownership analyses, researching suppliers and assessing risk, leading performance and relationship management initiatives, negotiating commercial terms, monitoring compliance, managing contractor claims, and driving continuous improvement and change management across the supply chain. • Develop enterprise‑wide category strategies to reduce cost and improve operations • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align demand, contracts, and execution • Perform total cost of ownership and should‑cost analyses for maximum value capture • Research suppliers and create risk profiles based on industry trends • Lead supplier performance and relationship improvement initiatives • Create performance‑based supplier scorecards and monitor compliance • Negotiate commercial terms and contract modifications to support category goals • Review, verify, and negotiate contract changes or additional work orders • Manage contractor claims to minimize cost and schedule impact • Develop risk management strategies in partnership with Legal and Security teams • Lead cross‑functional project teams and manage implementation plans • Drive continuous improvement and change management across the supply chain • Utilize ERP systems (SAP, Coupa, Oracle) for sourcing and purchasing activities • Travel up to 20% to attend meetings at various locations • Support Xcel Energy’s goal of delivering carbon‑free electricity by 2050

What You Bring
Xcel Energy is seeking a sourcing professional to develop and execute category, supplier, and risk management strategies that align with business priorities, lead cross‑functional teams, and manage contracts with a budget responsibility in the tens of millions of dollars. The role requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain or a related field (or equivalent experience), at least five years of sourcing experience, three years of contract formation knowledge, strong negotiation and project management skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and sourcing systems, and excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities, with up to 20% travel. Preferred qualifications include an MBA, CPSM certification, ERP system expertise, direct supplier negotiation experience, labor contract negotiation, market intelligence analysis, and familiarity with a strategic sourcing 7‑step process. • Apply strong negotiation and project management skills to achieve objectives • Maintain high levels of customer service and interpersonal relationship skills
