About the Role

The Director of Operations will manage day‑to‑day project operations for the assigned Division or Business Unit, leading Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents. This role carries profit and loss responsibility and requires strong operational skills to ensure projects meet objectives. Key responsibilities include developing and executing operational plans covering budgeting, staffing, safety, quality, and procurement; directing project activities to maximize equipment and personnel use; and overseeing multiple projects worth $500 million or more. The role also involves business development, financial analysis, contract and change‑order management, stakeholder engagement, human resources oversight, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards throughout preconstruction and execution phases. • Develop and execute operation plans, budgets, staffing, safety, quality, and procurement strategies. • Direct project activities through subordinate managers to optimize equipment and personnel utilization. • Oversee multiple projects valued at $500 million or more. • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and maintain long‑term client relationships. • Analyze financial reports, perform cost analysis, approve requisitions, and negotiate supplier contracts. • Manage contract reviews, change‑order processes, and commercial negotiations. • Engage with senior management and client representatives in internal and external project meetings. • Enforce compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, and quality standards. • Lead preconstruction tasks including bid evaluation, proposal development, and schedule/budget approval. • Monitor execution phase to ensure adherence to schedule, budget, safety, and productivity targets.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a four‑year degree in construction, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and possess at least ten years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management, preferably within large‑scale industrial environments such as power generation or mining. Required knowledge includes health and safety programs, EPC and design‑build delivery models, and advanced construction methods, along with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 10+ years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management of large‑scale projects. • Experience in heavy industrial environments such as power generation or mining. • Knowledge of EPC, design‑build, and other construction delivery models. • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and innovative management techniques. • Proficiency with standard office software and understanding of financial/accounting principles.
