Job Highlights
About the Role
The Senior Technical Advisor works under general supervision, independently applying advanced engineering techniques, making decisions on complex engineering problems, and representing the organization at conferences and negotiations with key engineers and officials. The role serves as a subject‑matter expert for a wide range of process equipment, including pressure vessels, spheres, storage tanks, process columns, column internals, reactors, scrubbers, unfired heat‑transfer equipment, electric heaters, silos, bins, mounded vessels, pig launchers, and receivers. The advisor provides technical guidance to designers and less‑experienced engineers, is heavily consulted for scientific interpretation, and ensures project schedules are met while suggesting improvement methods for effective project handling. • Act as subject‑matter expert for pressure vessels, storage tanks, process columns, reactors, scrubbers, heat‑transfer equipment, silos, and related assets. • Lead and mentor design engineers, allocate project hours, and ensure tasks are completed within budget and schedule. • Prepare FEED and EPC/EPCM documentation, including material requisitions, technical specifications, designs per ASME/API codes, and vendor bid evaluations. • Oversee mechanical design using DISASU, PVElite, COMPRESS, and AMETANK, ensuring compliance with NACE, wind, and seismic standards. • Manage project schedules, propose improvement methods, and serve as requisition engineer when project demands arise.

What You Bring
A graduate in Mechanical or allied Engineering with 16‑25 years of experience (minimum 18 years) is required; expertise includes FEED and EPC/EPCM activities such as material requisition, technical specifications, design using ASME, API and other international codes, mechanical data sheets, supplier offer review, technical bid evaluation, and vendor document review across disciplines. Preferred experience includes at least eight years in EPC, with additional value given to fabrication industry, PMC projects, and mechanical design of heat exchangers. The advisor must be able to lead engineering/design teams, communicate effectively with KBR centers and clients, serve as a requisition engineer when needed, and manage resource hour estimates and allocations within budget. Proficiency in design software such as DISASU, PVElite, COMPRESS, and AMETANK is essential, along with strong knowledge of NACE compliance, wind and seismic analysis per national and international codes, and expertise in re‑rating, repairing, and re‑qualifying fabricated equipment. • Minimum 18 years of mechanical or allied engineering experience (typical 16‑25 years) with at least eight years in EPC; fabrication, PMC, and heat‑exchanger design experience are advantageous. • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, and alignment with KBR values and ESG principles.
