About the Role

The Relief Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous waste removal services. The driver ensures the vehicle meets all safety standards before each shift, adheres to company, state and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports. Responsibilities also include inspecting the truck, lifting and loading refuse, operating the compactor, and delivering material to disposal sites. The role requires courteous interaction with customers and dispatchers while following route sheets and maps to service each location efficiently. Drivers must continuously monitor waste for violations, address accidental spills, and keep the vehicle clean and ready for operation. Compliance with productivity standards, safety policies, and participation in the ReSOP program are also essential. • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, checking tire pressure, fluids, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report safety issues. • Safely operate the heavy truck along assigned routes, reading route sheets, following maps, and servicing each customer. • Operate manual/automatic controls to lift, load refuse, run the compactor, and dispose of material at the designated facility. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures. • Monitor waste continuously for unacceptable material. • Clean areas around accidental waste spills in accordance with safety standards. • Monitor vehicle condition continuously, keep it operationally ready, and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body each trip. • Complete required route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other documentation. • Meet productivity standards to service all customers efficiently. • Follow all required safety policies and procedures. • Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program. • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism, courtesy, honesty, and trustworthiness. • Adhere to company policies and promote safety standards without taking inappropriate risks.

What You Bring

Successful candidates demonstrate strong customer service, time management, and follow‑through abilities, and they consistently uphold company policies and safety standards. Pride in work and a goal‑oriented mindset are valued, with a preference for two years of commercial truck experience. A Class B (or higher) commercial driver’s license with air‑brake endorsement is mandatory. • Demonstrate strong time‑management skills to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely. • Show good follow‑through ability, adhering to schedules and addressing challenges. • Two years of prior commercial truck driving experience preferred. • Hold a Class B (or higher) commercial driver’s license with air‑brake endorsement.
