Job Highlights
About the Role
The opportunity is to act as the engineering authority for system studies on projects and tenders of varying complexity involving Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) within the Power Conversion Solutions business. The role includes executing system‑study assignments cost‑effectively, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and quality standards, and serving as Project Engineer during execution while collaborating closely with engineering teams, sales and project management. Key responsibilities include performing power‑system modelling and simulation studies that incorporate FACTS technology, supporting the design of power electronic converter systems such as STATCOMs and SFCs during tender and project phases, and conducting load‑flow, RMS, transient EMTP, harmonic and optimisation analyses. Additional duties involve documenting control concepts, developing and validating models against site measurements, sharing knowledge within the system‑engineering team, and adhering to internal and external regulations and Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values. • Perform power‑system modelling and simulation studies incorporating FACTS technology. • Support design of FACTS converter systems (e.g., STATCOMs, SFCs) during tender and project execution. • Conduct load‑flow, RMS, transient EMTP, harmonic and optimisation analyses. • Document control concepts and study outcomes. • Develop and validate models against site measurements. • Share and maintain system‑engineering knowledge within the team. • Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations and Hitachi Energy safety and integrity values. • Work independently, apply standards, take ownership of assignments.
