About the Role
The Carpenter General Foreman oversees and coordinates the daily operations of civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. The role involves supervising crews, managing resources, and liaising with project managers and subcontractors. The foreman must understand the assigned work, maintain standards, motivate employees, and support their immediate supervisor. • Supervise and coordinate civil construction crews including earthworks, concrete, drainage, storm water, and structural works • Direct Foremen and Leadmen on‑site to optimize resource use and ensure compliance with company, state, and federal policies • Provide formal coaching feedback to Foremen • Schedule equipment, materials, and tools to maximize production and minimize costs, collaborating with the Civil Superintendent • Manage, coach, train, and implement standardized work plans while assisting in process improvement efforts • Maintain safe working conditions and enforce safety procedures for the project discipline • Enforce company, jobsite‑specific, federal, and state safety regulations and address concerns with the Civil Superintendent • Account for project construction activities and communicate expectations to craftsmen, subcontractors, and vendors • Maintain records of labor and equipment production and compare them to estimates • Communicate cost overruns and resource utilization to the Civil Superintendent • Mentor Foremen on production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety • Maintain and update crew and equipment matrices • Hold crew members and Foremen accountable for company and project rules • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices • Conduct weekly and quarterly safety and quality audits • Obtain permits to support work being performed • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds • Navigate uneven terrain, mud, loose rock, sand, and adverse weather conditions • Operate office equipment and drive cars/trucks as needed • Communicate effectively with management, supervision, and field workers • Read, write, and perform math calculations for work and safety directives • Concentrate amid distractions and make decisions

What You Bring
The foreman must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work, safely operate tools and equipment, and be prepared to work in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. The position requires physical ability to lift up to 25–50 lb, work in varied weather and terrain, climb ladders and scaffolds, and operate office equipment. It also demands strong communication, math, decision‑making, detail‑orientation, and leadership skills. • Understand mix designs and the concrete curing process • Possess advanced knowledge of the QC checkout process • Lift up to 25 lb regularly, occasionally up to 50 lb • Demonstrate detail‑orientation, strong leadership, and motivational skills
