About the Role
The Director will lead client‑facing commissions, oversee complex high‑value projects, and develop talent within the local markets. Responsibilities include enhancing planning and scheduling processes, fostering interdisciplinary relationships, and driving business generation, resource planning and strategy for the team. • Lead client‑facing commissions and manage high‑value, complex infrastructure and defence projects. • Improve Planning and Scheduling and interfacing project controls processes to increase efficiency and client benefits. • Build and nurture interdisciplinary relationships that add value for clients. • Drive business generation, resource planning and strategic growth for the Planning and Scheduling team. • Ensure project scope delivery and maintain high levels of client satisfaction. • Provide senior line‑management, including career development and team coaching. • Develop project controls capability through recruitment, training and knowledge transfer. • Implement, embed and roll‑out enhancements to Planning and Scheduling methodologies. • Contribute to national and regional Communities of Practice and performance reporting initiatives. • Offer expert analysis to senior stakeholders to support effective decision‑making. • Train and mentor clients and junior team members on Planning and Scheduling best practices. • Lead national and regional initiatives aligned with strategic growth and outreach goals.

What You Bring
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Director for Planning & Scheduling to join its growing Infrastructure practice. The role is based in the Midlands and Central South, with national travel, and will work on high‑profile infrastructure and defence projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate subject‑matter expertise in planning and scheduling tools, experience interfacing with other project controls disciplines, and a track record of directing large, complex programmes. Leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to learning, inclusivity and health & safety are essential, as is familiarity with NEC contracts and, for defence work, UK nationality and SC clearance. • Possess deep expertise in a range of Planning and Scheduling tools and techniques. • Have proven experience interfacing with other Project Controls disciplines. • Demonstrated ability to direct Planning and Scheduling on complex programmes and lead large teams. • Familiarity with NEC contracts and ability to work on both delivery and transformation projects. • For defence roles, be a sole UK national with current or attainable SC clearance.
