About the Role

• Observe and document field construction activities. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Represent ECS as the sole point of contact on project sites. • Provide personal transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

ECS is seeking a field engineer intern to support construction projects by monitoring on‑site activities and ensuring material quality. The intern will collaborate closely with contractors and project managers, gaining hands‑on experience in civil‑engineering testing and documentation. Candidates should be actively enrolled in a civil engineering, construction management, or related program and be eager to learn how building materials are applied in practice. The role involves regular physical activity, including lifting and transporting materials, and requires personal transportation to job sites. • Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally lift up to 85 lb to waist height.
