About the Role
The Building Technician Lead is accountable for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the assigned facility. In many locations the role serves as the sole engineering presence, and may also supervise maintenance staff based on the building’s size and complexity. Daily duties include overseeing system performance, conducting preventive maintenance, and addressing urgent issues such as equipment failures or emergencies. The technician coordinates work with outside contractors, manages inventory, and ensures that all activities comply with relevant codes and company safety standards, while providing regular operational reports to management. The role operates primarily from a professional office setting but involves frequent travel between properties and work in varied weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting equipment of 50 lb or more, climbing, stooping, crouching, and the safe use of rigging and lifting devices to install or move machinery. • Perform daily operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. • Supervise and assign tasks to maintenance staff as needed. • Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, motor lubrication, lamp replacement, belt adjustments, bearing replacement, and shaft alignment. • Recommend and implement improvements to the preventive maintenance program. • Develop building‑specific maintenance procedures and coordinate work with external contractors. • Manage inventory and stock of maintenance supplies. • Respond promptly to emergencies, including fires, evacuations, and equipment failures. • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company safety policies. • Compile and submit monthly building operation reports to management.

What You Bring
Success in this position requires strong communication, organizational, and technical abilities, along with sound decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or GED, preferably complemented by trade school or apprenticeship training, and have five or more years of experience with commercial building systems. Required credentials include applicable trade licenses, EPA universal refrigerant certification, a clean driver’s license, and basic proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word. • Complete mandatory C&W safety training and adhere to the uniform dress code. • Apply strong communication, organizational, technical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills. • Hold a high school diploma/GED; trade school or apprenticeship preferred; 5+ years related experience. • Possess required trade licenses (journeyman/master) and EPA Section 608 universal refrigerant certification. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. • Demonstrate proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word. • Knowledge of HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, water systems, and energy management.

Benefits
