About the Role

The Trade Foreman 2 supports routine and non‑routine construction activities, ensuring work is performed efficiently and effectively. This role involves completing tasks personally and supervising a crew, all in alignment with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. • Participate actively in safety culture and mentor others to maintain an injury‑free environment. • Complete assigned project tasks using appropriate tools. • Track and report labor units and hours, submitting timecards accurately. • Maintain and care for tools and equipment needed for project production. • Lead and monitor crew safety and security procedures. • Set, communicate, and achieve crew production goals. • Determine crew sizes that align with production targets. • Document activities, production data, and crew sizes. • Coordinate supply deliveries and communicate with vendors. • Maintain established quality standards for all duties. • Coordinate work of other trades within the assigned scope. • Participate in safety activities such as toolbox talks, hazard analyses, site analyses, and SIMS reporting. • Read and interpret plans, specifications, shop and coordination drawings. • Provide on‑the‑job guidance and share expertise to develop team members. • Coordinate inspections for the assigned scope of work. • Update and manage punch lists. • Manage subcontractor crews for portions of projects or small projects. • Create, communicate, monitor, and achieve production goals for larger crews and other foremen. • Plan pre‑construction activities including crew size, schedule, materials, meetings, and manpower. • Allocate internal and external resources for project execution. • Develop and enforce safety plans through training, toolbox talks, and safety representative communication. • Control production costs by leveraging project management data and task reports. • Support quality assurance and quality control planning for assigned tasks. • Apply and lead Lean principles on‑site, such as daily stand‑ups and pull planning. • Assist with Materials and Other Costs (MOC) and equipment analysis. • Apply Lean processes and philosophy to improve productivity. • Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications. • Acquire and apply knowledge of productivity rates. • Assess and optimize project productivity. • Lead crews to meet production objectives. • Build collaborative relationships internally and externally.

What You Bring

The position requires ability to lift at least 50 lbs, occasional travel, and flexibility to work non‑traditional hours in extreme conditions. Frequent activities include standing, walking, climbing and lifting, while occasional tasks involve computer work. A professional non‑union benefits package is offered. • Perform work accurately, completely, and within deadlines. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (intermediate level). • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Understand organizational structure and resource availability. • Possess knowledge of self‑perform labor productivity and trade scopes. • Understand construction management methods and means. • Demonstrate intermediate layout, crane flagging, and rigging skills. • Hold a High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical degree preferred. • Minimum 3 + years commercial construction experience and 2 + years field supervision.
