About the Role

The water team delivers innovative, sustainable solutions for water management and infrastructure, including dams, levees, advanced treatment, storm‑water management, and conveyance systems, while integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance to protect public health and enhance quality of life. • Assist in planning, designing, permitting, and constructing drinking water treatment projects • Conduct site visits and investigations; collect and compile data for treatment facilities • Prepare reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates • Prepare national, provincial, and local permit applications • Perform field engineering services and assess treatment performance through data analysis • Plan and execute bench, pilot, and full‑scale studies of water treatment processes • Develop treatment recommendations and design guidelines • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers

What You Bring

GFT is seeking an Entry‑Level Water Process Designer/EIT to join its Water team in Toronto, Mississauga, or Ottawa, ON. The role follows a hybrid work model that requires regular attendance at the designated office location. • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard engineering software • Strong written and verbal communication for client presentations and reports • Physically able to work in the field and act as a collaborative team player • Experience with municipal or private utilities is a plus • Knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, and other specialty software

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $61,000 to $86,000 depending on experience and geographic location. GFT is a privately held AEC firm that values strong relationships, creativity, and a personal touch, employing over 5,000 engineers, planners, architects, and designers. The position is full‑time with no sponsorship or relocation assistance; local candidates will be given preference.
