About the Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to document existing products and designs, modify existing products, and design new products as part of a cross‑functional technical team. The role requires organizing detailed part drawings, creating assembly drawings, and compiling bills of material that reflect the manufacturing process. Under the supervision of senior engineers, the incumbent will perform a variety of engineering work, including design, development, construction, continuous improvement, and day‑to‑day technical guidance to manufacturing. Each day at Hubbell varies, with the engineer contributing to manufacturing processes, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration while providing technical support to production teams. The role also includes occasional travel to customer sites for field service, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and calibrations. • Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes for production equipment, tools, and systems. • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and assembly instructions. • Act as the liaison between manufacturing, R&D, quality, service, and sales. • Provide technical guidance on production tasks such as HV tank processing, lugging, soldering, schematic reviews, and work instructions. • Facilitate communication between production and engineering to ensure correct assembly and testing. • Travel up to 20% on short notice to customer sites for field service, technical assistance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and calibrations.

What You Bring
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (required). • 5+ years experience reading schematics and working with handheld tools and test instruments. • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred). • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling software. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage time, organization, and prioritization. • Ability to understand and practice standard safety procedures. • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers. • Ability to work at heights and lift up to 15 lb.
