About the Role
The Area Sales Manager oversees sales performance and margin enhancement across an assigned area, building and leading a best‑in‑class sales team. This role involves staffing, training, and motivating sales staff while collaborating closely with the division’s operating team to meet targets on schedule. Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and mentoring team members to achieve optimal results, supporting the Director of Sales and Director of Marketing with sales‑related tasks, and implementing sales goals and training programs that align with divisional objectives. The manager also guides New Home Consultants on sales techniques, coordinates efforts to ensure timely closings and customer satisfaction, tracks escrow activity, prepares accurate sales reports, and reviews paperwork for regulatory compliance. Additional duties involve attending promotional events, conducting sales meetings, and communicating relevant developments to management. • Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to achieve performance targets. • Support the Director of Sales and Marketing with sales initiatives and goal implementation. • Train New Home Consultants on effective sales techniques and customer satisfaction strategies. • Coordinate with consultants and other team members to ensure timely closings. • Track escrow activities, generate accurate sales reports, and ensure regulatory compliance. • Review paperwork and liaise with escrow companies and mortgage lenders. • Represent the division at promotional events and conduct sales meetings.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least five years of residential sales, management, or real‑estate experience, a high‑school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and auto‑insurance coverage. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to handle confrontational situations objectively. A college degree is preferred. The position requires regular in‑person attendance at company communities, job sites, and offices, often exceeding eight hours per day, and the ability to work in confined construction trailers, operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, and lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, operation of construction equipment may be necessary. • Minimum 5 years of residential sales, management, or real‑estate experience. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. • Possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and auto‑insurance coverage. • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work over eight hours daily in construction trailer environments and lift up to 50 pounds.
