About the Role
• Operate drill rigs and oversee various drilling operations such as auger borings, SPT sampling, rock coring, and monitoring well installations. • Collect field data according to specifications and job instructions. • Train and supervise drilling assistants on site. • Achieve production and utilization targets. • Communicate with project managers, inspectors, clients, and supervisors as needed. • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drill rigs and equipment. • Promote and adhere to safe work practices, PPE usage, and site safety plans. • Operate DOT‑regulated vehicles and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including record keeping and inspections. • Work safely outdoors in all weather conditions while delivering high‑quality, efficient work. • Participate in a tax‑deferred 401(k) savings plan.

What You Bring
GFT is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Driller to join our drilling crews for geotechnical, environmental, and structural subsurface projects in Ebensburg, PA. The role involves operating drill rigs and supporting a variety of subsurface investigations. We seek candidates with a solid background in geotechnical drilling, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work safely and communicate effectively. The role also demands adaptability to various weather conditions and a commitment to safety. Additional experience with track‑mounted drill rigs and a CDL are considered assets. These qualifications enhance effectiveness in diverse project environments. The position is full‑time, with core business hours of 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, and requires successful completion of a criminal background check.
