About the Role
The Custodian supports a safe, clean, and orderly work environment at Sandvik’s Alachua facility by handling sanitation, general housekeeping, and routine facilities maintenance. Responsibilities include cleaning indoor areas, maintaining outdoor spaces, and following established procedures aligned with Sandvik's safety standards. • Clean and maintain assigned indoor areas, including mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, restroom sanitation, and trash removal. • Follow a trash and recycling removal schedule consistent with local pickup times. • Replace air filters and perform minor upkeep tasks as directed. • Clean spills and sanitize surfaces to maintain workplace hygiene. • Adhere to OSHA and company cleaning procedures for safety compliance. • Maintain outdoor walkways, green spaces, and building exteriors by mowing, trimming, and pressure washing. • Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other custodial equipment safely and effectively. • Promptly report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager.

What You Bring
The work environment involves regular exposure to loud noises and requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and extended contact with cleaning agents. Physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Candidates must be able to work in the U.S. on a full‑time, indefinite basis without sponsorship, hold a High School Diploma or GED, and have prior custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience. Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning chemicals, operation of custodial tools, and basic OSHA knowledge is required. • Require High School Diploma/GED and prior custodial or facilities maintenance experience. • Must be able to work in the U.S. full‑time without sponsorship and possess knowledge of safe chemical handling and OSHA basics.
