About the Role
Downer’s Energy & Industrial business is seeking a Contract Administrator to manage day‑to‑day commercial and contractual matters for major projects. Reporting to the Commercial Director – Energy & Industrial and guided by the Senior Commercial Manager, the role ensures successful project delivery through effective contract administration, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Based on‑site, the Contract Administrator will support multiple project teams, liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on budget, and in compliance with Downer standards. This critical role underpins the success of Downer’s projects and client satisfaction. • Administer upstream and downstream contracts, including payment claims, variations, and compliance tracking. • Support project teams with commercial strategies, risk management, and dispute resolution. • Maintain project registers (delay, variation, insurance) and ensure timely reporting. • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to manage contractual obligations. • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to project teams to optimize outcomes.

What You Bring
• Exposure to large‑scale projects and senior stakeholders. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract administration or commercial management on capital projects. • Strong understanding of contracts, variations, claims, and dispute resolution. • Commercial acumen, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure. • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
