About the Role
The Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The role includes ensuring the vehicle complies with company safety standards, adhering to all state and federal regulations, and completing daily Vehicle Condition Reports to address any defects. Key duties involve performing thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, reading route sheets and following maps to service each customer, operating manual or automatic controls to load, compact, and dispose of waste, and interacting professionally with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues. The driver must also identify and tag unsatisfactory containers, monitor waste for prohibited materials, clean spills according to safety policies, and keep the vehicle clean and operational. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and controls. • Safely operate the collection truck along the assigned route, load refuse, operate the compactor, and discharge waste at the designated disposal site. • Read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as scheduled. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures. • Monitor waste for prohibited materials and clean accidental spills following safety protocols. • Keep the vehicle operational by cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body each trip. • Complete required route, productivity, and Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) documentation daily. • Adhere to productivity standards, safety policies, and participate in the ReSOP safety program.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a Class B (or higher) commercial driver’s license with an air‑brake endorsement, demonstrate strong customer‑service skills, effective time management, and a commitment to follow‑through on schedules and safety standards.
