Assist journeyman linemen in constructing and maintaining transmission power lines.

About the Role
The Transmission Lineman A supports the Journeyman Lineman and Foreman by performing construction, maintenance, and repair of transmission poles, power lines, and auxiliary equipment, while learning from the experienced Lineman team and collaborating with other department personnel. • Replace transmission structures, pull wire, and build new lines. • Construct, maintain, or repair transmission lines. • Install and maintain wood poles and steel towers, including setting, framing, and hardware installation. • Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized electric utility equipment. • Safely identify primary and secondary circuit voltage and recognize induced voltage. • Climb various structures such as wood, steel, poles, and towers. • Work 50+ hours per week with up to 100 % travel, including 7‑day weeks and trips to Texas and Florida.

What You Bring
This role requires extensive physical activity in field environments, including climbing, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in extreme weather conditions. Employees must maintain clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to identify colors and distances. • Apply knowledge of grounding, dead‑ending, and proper wire sagging. • Hold a valid state driver’s license; a Class A CDL is preferred. • Possess leadership training, completion of Lineman School, and/or an apprenticeship program.
