About the Role

• Identify and engage with commercial, residential, and institutional/municipal prospects on or near Vicinity’s pipe infrastructure and assess potential business opportunities. • Research prospect data on property, current energy system, and decision‑makers to inform the sales process. • Build strong relationships with executive and operations stakeholders such as general managers, finance, engineering, and procurement. • Document and update prospect information in the CRM (Dynamics) and maintain data hygiene. • Conduct financial analysis, prepare proposals, price solutions, and present to prospects. • Lead negotiations and close deals to meet individual sales targets. • Collaborate with the regional sales team to execute corporate and regional growth strategies. • Develop relationships with regional influencers and educate them on Vicinity’s district energy capabilities. • Participate in company‑sponsored activities and professional associations to maintain active community outreach. • Engage regional engineers, architects, contractors, and developers to demonstrate Vicinity’s value and drive new sales. • Maintain full accountability for assigned accounts, including contract renewals. • Maximize revenue by pursuing opportunities to expand relationships, such as beyond‑the‑meter services and energy‑efficiency upgrades. • Leverage the customer service team to resolve service, billing, and collection issues promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.

What You Bring

The Philadelphia office is looking for an experienced business development professional with deep commercial real‑estate knowledge and familiarity with utilities and energy. Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Business Development and Accounts, the Account Executive will drive new on‑/near‑pipe district‑energy sales using a value‑based approach that aligns building owners’ operational, economic and sustainability objectives. This is a full‑time exempt role located in Philadelphia, PA. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field and a minimum of ten years of sales or business‑development experience. Preferred candidates have commercial‑real‑estate development and/or energy‑utilities/HVAC experience and can recommend energy solutions that meet stakeholder priorities. The role also requires strong customer orientation, “hunter” mentality, financial‑modeling expertise, and the ability to negotiate complex agreements. The position demands excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, strong interpersonal teamwork, strategic thinking, and self‑motivation to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
