About the Role
In this position you will provide technical leadership on projects throughout planning, evaluation, design, and implementation phases, overseeing study‑phase and design‑phase work across civil, environmental, construction, and industrial domains. You will guide project teams by assigning work, monitoring progress, ensuring design standards are met, and coaching team members to enhance their skills and success. • Plan projects using drawings, surveys, maps, and topographic data. • Monitor project progress to meet design specifications and standards. • Assign and oversee project tasks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper time entry. • Write proposals for advanced‑level projects. • Influence project financial metrics positively. • Advise stakeholders and management on engineering requirements and design modifications. • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and engineers to keep projects on track. • Work with surveyors to establish reference points, grades, and elevations for construction. • Prepare and present detention and due‑diligence reports. • Calculate material, equipment, and labor needs to estimate construction costs. • Use CAD/Civil 3D and other design tools to create and communicate project designs. • Define design specifications such as water flow rates, traffic demand, and earthwork balance. • Teach company methodologies and mentor team members. • Hire, train, evaluate, assign, and discipline staff as needed. • Identify and solve complex engineering problems. • Deliver creative, analytical, detail‑oriented solutions. • Present publicly and lead team assignments aligned with abilities. • Motivate teams to complete projects on time, on budget, and accurately.

What You Bring
The Kleingers Group is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to lead and grow its Indianapolis civil engineering team. This leadership role blends technical expertise with business development opportunities in the Indy market, fostering diverse perspectives to drive progress. The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree, an Indiana PE license, and 5‑8 years of experience, with strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, state and local regulations, and design software such as CAD and Civil 3D. • Hold a civil engineering degree and an active PE license, preferably in Indiana. • Possess 5‑8 years of civil engineering experience and advanced technical knowledge. • Understand state and local regulatory compliance requirements. • Proficient in design, data recording, and analysis software. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Demonstrate personal qualities: detail‑oriented, self‑starter, collaborative, problem‑solver, organized.
