Logistics Material Handler - 1st Shift

About the Role

The Material Handler is responsible for moving and cycle‑counting inventory throughout the building using smart‑phone devices, forklifts, and order pickers, while adhering to safety, accuracy, and productivity standards. • Perform material handling tasks: pick location replenishment, inbound putaway, inventory cycle counting, and truck loading/unloading. • Complete forklift certification and operate all lift types safely with daily inspections. • Execute daily 5S warehouse organization and cleaning activities. • Accurately move inventory per WMS assignments, ensuring correct quantities and locations. • Prepare pallets for putaway and replenishment following standard work procedures. • Meet productivity rates for each material handling task. • Communicate obstacles to leads or supervisors promptly. • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program and submit suggestions to enhance safety, quality, on‑time delivery, and cost performance. • Assist with order picking when needed.

What You Bring

• Minimum 1 year distribution center experience. • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to match visual information on a smart‑phone device with product labels. • Accurate counting skills with solid addition and multiplication abilities. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to continuously use a smart‑phone device throughout the shift. • Physical capability to lift 10+ lb repeatedly, occasionally up to 60 lb, stand 8‑10 hours, and bend 90°/twist 45°. • Safe operation of motorized equipment and all forklift types. • Follow verbal and written instructions; flexible to work voluntary/mandatory overtime as required.
