About the Role

The position may involve up to 12‑hour shifts in physically demanding conditions, including climbing, lifting objects up to 50 lb, and frequent hand use. Workers must be able to navigate steel or wood frameworks, ladders, scaffolds, and confined or uneven work areas while adhering to all safety standards and wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel‑toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and high‑visibility vest. • Assist journeyman pipefitters with installation, fabrication, assembly, and layout. • Follow piping plans, drawings, specifications, and job instructions. • Maintain professional relationships with crew members. • Perform tasks safely and in compliance with company policies. • Prepare and stage materials, tools, and equipment for daily work. • Learn pipefitting techniques, tools, materials, and best practices. • Participate in safety meetings and understand associated hazards. • Apply basic math for measurements and layout. • Use and maintain hand and power tools appropriate to apprentice level. • Identify and help eliminate waste and inefficiencies. • Ask questions and seek clarification when uncertain about tasks or safety.

What You Bring

The Pipefitter Apprentice works under the guidance of Journeyman Pipefitters and other skilled tradespeople to plan, layout, install, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems in line with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This role is designed to provide hands‑on training appropriate to the apprentice’s experience level, requiring the ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work safely under supervision. Candidates should have up to two years of experience in industrial or commercial construction, or be enrolled in a recognized pipefitter apprenticeship program. Preference is given to those who have completed the NCCER Core Curriculum or hold a high school diploma/GED, and who are willing to engage in formal apprenticeship training and on‑the‑job learning. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions are essential.
