Diesel Mechanic 2nd Shift - $2500 Annual Tool Allowance and $300 Annual Boot Allowance
Maintain and repair diesel/CNG trucks and equipment at WM's Rochester, NH site.

About the Role
The position works Monday through Friday, second shift from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, with no weekend work, in a repair/maintenance shop at our Rochester, NH hauling site. Each day you will service trucks and equipment that support over 20 million customers across the United States, using modern tools to maintain both diesel and, at some locations, CNG‑powered vehicles. Your duties will involve inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of systems, estimating repair costs, adhering to standard labor repair times, responding to emergency calls, completing safety checks, documenting work, and assisting senior mechanics on projects. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diverse vehicles and equipment. • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts. • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) and complete required paperwork. • Respond to emergency service calls and conduct safety checks on all vehicles. • Review and address repairs identified in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Assist senior mechanics on project work and maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least two years of relevant mechanical experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be over 18, legally authorized to work in the United States, capable of meeting the job’s physical demands, and able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical. We look for team‑players who care about colleagues, enjoy working independently or collaboratively, appreciate variety in daily tasks, and are determined problem‑solvers. The role requires frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, constant standing and walking, and exposure to occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and toxic chemicals, as well as indoor garage and outdoor conditions including dirt, noise, and inclement weather. • Minimum 2 years of relevant mechanical experience. • Valid driver’s license with a clean record. • At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Ability to meet physical demands of lifting, standing, and working in hazardous environments. • Pass pre‑employment drug screening and physical examination.
