About the Role

The superintendent will be responsible for preparing the site, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining relationships with unions and regulatory agencies, and ensuring that all work complies with specifications, OSHA standards, and company policies. Daily documentation, equipment management, and proactive scheduling are essential to keep the project on track and within budget. • Attend all required pre‑job meetings. • Review project scope with the Project Manager and Area Manager. • Receive and review all union contracts before union pre‑jobs. • Set up job site prior to the start of the project. • Review and understand cost codes before work begins. • Communicate and maintain good relationships with IDOT, inspectors, subcontractors, and owners. • Ensure work is completed according to project specifications. • Coordinate all subcontractor operations. • Manage the local union relationship. • Supervise all on‑site employees for assigned projects. • Ensure EEO requirements are met and documented. • Complete required paperwork: daily timesheets with photo documentation, safe cards, weekly toolbox talks, onboarding, daily diaries, delivery tickets with cost codes, fuel receipts. • Send daily timesheets and diary notes from any foreman under the superintendent’s supervision. • Ensure completed quantities are entered daily and accurately. • Generate a two‑week look‑ahead schedule using the template provided by the Project Manager. • Verify utility locates before any excavation. • Maintain all tools and equipment assigned to the project. • Complete equipment checklists as necessary. • Guarantee required materials and equipment are on site as scheduled. • Maximize equipment utilization on the project. • Oversee work compliance with OSHA standards and company policies. • Conduct toolbox talks on the first day of the work week and submit sign‑in sheets. • Ensure daily safe cards are completed and turned in.

What You Bring
