About the Role

The role is diverse, with project‑specific Systems Integration duties that may include developing training material, leading integration efforts, coordinating across disciplines, and creating integration strategies, operational readiness frameworks, safety arguments, test definitions and operational concepts. • Develop training material for the Metro and Rail Learning Academy and lead regional roll‑out. • Act as Systems Engineering and Integration lead for Mott MacDonald or clients on major projects. • Coordinate with other disciplines and support interdisciplinary market‑facing business opportunities. • Develop Systems Integration strategies, plans and roadmaps. • Serve as SME for Operational Readiness Frameworks and operational proving activities (e.g., trial operations, procedure validation). • Serve as SME for ETCS Operational Integration and supplier interoperability. • Lead development of operational safety and assurance arguments. • Create Test Stage and Systems Definitions. • Develop Operational, Maintenance and Test Concepts.

What You Bring

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking a talented Systems Engineering and Integration Lead for our Australian team in Queensland. Our unique offering helps clients define frameworks and achieve operational readiness for complex projects that often struggle with integration. The role involves providing expertise in Systems Integration, Testing & Commissioning, Progressive Systems Assurance, and Operations & Maintenance Integration to deliver the best outcomes for projects, operators and end users. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and experience delivering large, complex projects (right‑side of the V) are required. You must demonstrate holistic integration of complex systems, an inclusive leadership style, and the ability to oversee testing and commissioning strategy. Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, CBTC or ETCS are highly desirable. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience delivering large, complex projects (right‑side of the V). • Proven holistic integration of complex systems from unit/sub‑system to end‑to‑end operational level. • Inclusive leadership style and ability to view testing and commissioning strategy holistically. • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering, operations, assurance, safety and V&V. • Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (desirable). • Knowledge of CBTC and/or ETCS operation (desirable). • Excellent written and verbal communication across consultant, contractor and client levels. • Experience delivering, integrating and testing rail systems with in‑depth CBTC/ETCS knowledge (preferred).
