The Vehicle Inspection Station Compliance Officer maintains safety and emissions inspection station compliance by conducting station audits and reporting on compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include appointing or canceling stations, investigating station activities, serving suspensions on stations or technicians, responding to consumer complaints, and testifying in departmental hearings across Philadelphia and surrounding counties such as Delaware, Montgomery, and Chester.

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Vehicle Inspection Station Compliance Officer to join our team. This self‑managed role in the automotive industry offers reliable schedules, daily variety, and the ability to work from home while visiting inspection stations throughout the day. The position supports our Pennsylvania Emissions Team and the Pennsylvania DOT project. • High School diploma or equivalent • Valid, clean driver’s license • Able to complete and maintain a Safety Inspection Mechanic Certification and Certified Emission Inspector Certification paid for by the company • Able to handle objects up to 50 pounds, frequent sitting/standing, continuous drive times up to 90 minutes, and exposure to hot/cold temperatures within shop environments • Ability to read and understand state and government regulations and apply your understanding of them to observations found at inspection stations • Strong computer background and can effectively work with office equipment and all equipment supplied by the company • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision after the training period • Must be able to understand mechanical components • Understanding of simple math skills • Effective communication skills, including speaking with the public and accurately documenting station violations • Automotive knowledge is not required; training is provided to the right candidate • Previous auditing or investigative skills are helpful

Benefits
The successful candidate will work Monday‑Friday, 8‑5, with most of the work performed on the road at vehicle repair stations or from home. We will train the right individual in the automotive field, and we offer paid mileage for travel. This is an excellent opportunity for a self‑motivated, self‑managed individual. Salary ranges from $18.94 to $33.17 per hour.
