About the Role

• Design and commission safety automation and control systems for marine or hazardous environments • Program PLCs for safety and process applications • Perform on‑site commissioning and fault‑finding • Specify and design control system circuits and documentation • Develop and simulate PLC, HMI/SCADA systems and software • Check and approve electrical schematics and calculations • Conduct functional safety studies • Review designs against DNV or other standards • Select and procure control system components • Contribute to sales proposals and liaise with suppliers for expediting

The position involves developing bespoke machinery to meet customer needs within a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary engineering team. Both fresh graduate perspectives and seasoned expertise are valued equally. The successful candidate will be based in our Edinburgh office and may be required to work on‑site, travel abroad occasionally, and hold a valid driving licence. The role demands willingness to get hands‑on, combine technical know‑how with strong communication and lateral thinking to deliver projects on spec, on budget, and on time. • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal (desirable) • Experience with DNV certification and SIL (desirable) • Configure and commission inverter drives • Open‑minded with a keen‑to‑learn attitude • Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
