About the Role
• Serve as HR business partner for compensation, engagement, relations, compliance, staffing, and performance management at the plant. • Identify vacancies and collaborate with managers and talent acquisition to select and onboard new teammates. • Provide direction, coaching, and analytics to help leaders make talent decisions and foster employee engagement. • Partner with union bargaining committees to manage labor relations and contract administration. • Monitor compliance with state and federal leave and accommodation policies (FMLA, USERRA, ADA). • Analyze training needs and develop development plans for salaried and hourly employees. • Develop and facilitate training programs, including orientation and safety trainings. • Organize culture‑enhancing events to strengthen team engagement. • Participate in or lead HR projects and special initiatives.

What You Bring
As an HR Manager at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in driving employee engagement, supporting HR operations, and ensuring compliance across the plant. This on‑site position in Warren, OH requires strong organizational, communication, and strategic decision‑making skills, and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to talent development, workforce planning, and positive employee relations. You will collaborate with plant leadership, HR colleagues, union committees, and teammates to implement HR programs and policies. We seek candidates with 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, and at least two years supporting a collectively bargained environment. A bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field and exposure to Workday are preferred. Strong knowledge of HR and safety laws, high ethical standards, and excellent communication skills are essential. • 3–5 years HR experience, preferably in manufacturing. • Minimum 2 years supporting HR in a collectively bargained environment (preferred). • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (preferred). • Experience with HRIS, especially Workday (preferred). • Strong knowledge of HR and safety laws (EEOC, DOL, FMLA, USERRA, ADA, OSHA). • High ethical standards and strong organizational and planning skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening abilities. • Goal‑oriented, entrepreneurial self‑starter with strategic decision‑making ability.
