About the Role

As a GIS Technician, you will play a key part in environmental and archaeological initiatives by performing spatial analyses, creating maps, managing spatial and tabular data, and supporting field data collection. You will adhere to established technical procedures and undertake additional duties as required to ensure project success. • Support ad hoc environmental and archaeological projects. • Conduct spatial analyses and create maps using ArcGIS. • Input and edit spatial and tabular data with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. • Support field data collection using mobile GIS/GPS equipment. • Follow documented technical procedures.

What You Bring

Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in geography, planning, engineering, natural science, or a closely related discipline—or equivalent education and experience—are strongly preferred. This educational background equips candidates with the analytical foundation needed for the GIS role. Applicants must hold at least an associate’s degree in a related field, possess hands‑on experience with ArcGIS editing, database development, and map production, and be proficient in Microsoft 365 applications. Attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and solid written and oral communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Hold an associate degree (or higher) in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Science, or a related field. • Demonstrate practical experience with ArcGIS editing, database development, and map production. • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications. • Exhibit attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork. • Possess good written and oral communication skills.
