About the Role

The role involves operating equipment like balers, loaders, bobcats, compactors, or forklifts to transport and bind paper and other loose materials, while ensuring proper handling, safety, and coordination with the MRF Manager. The job blends office and plant/field work, requiring the use of standard office equipment and adherence to physical demands such as lifting, moving containers, and conducting routine equipment inspections. • Operate equipment (baler, front‑end loader, bobcat, compactor, forklift) to transport and bind materials. • Sort and grade incoming material. • Operate and monitor compactor functions. • Record, label, and maintain inventory of received or distributed items. • Compile worksheets or tickets according to customer specifications. • Ensure proper material feed onto conveyor and coordinate material flow. • Start baler, monitor functions, respond to alarms, and ensure proper operation. • Monitor and document equipment downtime. • Maintain safety in all work areas. • Inspect material quality before baling or shipping. • Coordinate with MRF Manager on material slated for baling or shipping. • Perform routine equipment maintenance, lubrication, fueling, and cleaning. • Maintain a supply of baler wire. • Operate loaders, forklifts, bobcats, etc., to move material to designated locations. • Keep surrounding work areas clean. • Unload, tag, and stack material in proper rows using lifting devices. • Load and unload materials from trailers and railcars. • Move material from baler and dump containers, bins, and gaylords. • Read loading/unloading sheets and bills of lading; complete tally sheets. • Inspect and grade wastepaper received at the plant. • Complete vehicle condition reports per corporate guidelines. • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Required: at least 6 months prior work experience and forklift certification. • Preferred: high school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience.
