About the Role

The Project Manager III – Facilities serves as a senior‑level leader responsible for delivering complex facility planning, design, and construction projects that support PSE’s operational continuity and long‑term asset strategy. This role drives projects from concept through completion with minimal oversight, providing architectural and engineering expertise, overseeing construction management and procurement, and ensuring regulatory compliance while safeguarding quality, cost, and schedule performance. Acting as a technical advisor and cross‑functional partner, the PM III interprets standards, develops project budgets, leads feasibility studies, and mentors other project managers to ensure facilities investments align with organizational goals and operational needs. The position also upholds safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and field procedures and promotes a culture of total safety. • Manage facilities planning, design, construction management, procurement, inspection, cost engineering and budgeting without supervision. • Monitor permit requirements and construction progress to ensure quality control and timely project delivery. • Provide professional and architectural services supporting planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and analysis of PSE facilities and assets. • Schedule and coordinate major segments of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives. • Review design and documentation to ensure compliance with PSE expectations. • Interpret, apply, and modify guidelines for existing projects or processes. • Conduct detailed design reviews of internal and external technical documents. • Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, and project evaluations without direct supervision. • Plan and develop project budgets with appropriate documentation. • Ensure capital project compliance with building and energy codes, standards, and operational requirements. • Provide architectural consultation and support to other departments. • Mentor other Project Managers.

What You Bring

PSE’s IT Infrastructure team is seeking qualified candidates for an open Project Manager III – Facility Services position. Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed during the interview process. The role requires conducting business honestly, ethically, and in line with PSE’s core values and Code of Conduct, and performing duties in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. This job is considered safety‑sensitive as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre‑employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana and its metabolites. • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management with at least six years relevant experience (or eight years without a degree). • Extensive experience in facility and space planning, design, specification preparation, maintenance, cost estimating, scheduling, and construction documentation. • Strong team‑management and communication skills to resolve divergent viewpoints and produce clear reports. • Demonstrated knowledge of architectural and engineering disciplines, methods, and procedures. • Proficiency with AutoCAD (computer‑aided design/drafting). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint). • Knowledge of building systems, construction materials, methods/economics, building/land‑use codes, and permitting. • Field experience with construction practices, techniques, and contract administration. • Understanding of company purchasing policies and procedures. • Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Interior Design, or related discipline. • Possession of a professional Architectural or Engineering license.
