About the Role
The role is responsible for procuring direct materials in accordance with plant and corporate QA and SCM regulations. It involves communicating and coordinating with network schedulers to provide planning and execution updates, understanding material requirements, processing requisitions, and issuing purchase orders to suppliers. The incumbent works closely with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery and handles exception messages such as postponements, anticipations, and cancellations while managing internal escalations. Key duties include resolving internal discrepancies with operations and external issues with suppliers, such as delivery delays, claims, and quality problems. The position collaborates with logistics partners to manage material delivery per Incoterms, monitors supplier on‑time delivery performance, and implements corrective actions. Additional responsibilities cover supplier invoice management, maintaining optimal inventory levels with input from inventory analysts and schedulers, coordinating RMA of defective parts, and supporting engineering and product managers on part phase‑in/out and ECN management. • Procure direct materials per plant and corporate QA/SCM regulations. • Communicate with network schedulers for planning and execution updates. • Process requisitions and issue purchase orders to suppliers. • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery and manage order exceptions. • Resolve internal discrepancies and external supplier issues (delivery, claims, quality). • Work with logistics partners and manage deliveries according to Incoterms. • Monitor supplier on‑time delivery (SOTD) and implement corrective actions. • Manage supplier invoices and resolve payment holds. • Maintain optimal inventory levels with inventory analysts and schedulers. • Coordinate RMA of defective parts and handle reverse logistics. • Support engineering and product managers on part phase‑in/out and ECN management. • Maintain purchasing data (prices, lead times, MOQ, sourcing) with Data Health and Commodity teams. • Utilize digital SCM tools to improve efficiency and share best practices. • Drive purchasing metric improvements and standardize best practices across sites. • Analyze over‑buy/under‑buy situations to minimize excess inventory.

It drives purchasing excellence by sharing best practices, improving purchasing metrics, standardizing processes across sites, and analyzing over‑buy/under‑buy situations to minimize excess inventory. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s (or MBA) in Supply Chain Management, at least eight years of material planning experience, and strong interpersonal, communication, and decision‑making skills. • Hold a Bachelor’s or MBA in Supply Chain Management. • Minimum of 8 years experience in material planning/SCM. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision‑making skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
