About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Project Manager to lead project quality, timeliness, and safety while mentoring the team and developing strong customer relationships. The role is available at both Level 1 and Level 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications, with compensation determined by experience and location. Key responsibilities include managing the overall financial health of projects, developing and maintaining financial projections, approving invoices and cost codes, and creating monthly owner billings. The Project Manager will also oversee budgeting, select trade partners and suppliers, handle contract buyouts, lead assistant project managers and engineers, approve timecards, and serve as the primary point of contact with owners and on‑site representatives while managing change orders and ensuring schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, and compliance until project completion. • Manage project finances, subcontracts, and suppliers; develop financial projections. • Approve invoices, cost codes, and coordinate monthly owner billing. • Oversee budget, select trade partners, and handle contract buyouts. • Lead and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assigning work and supporting career development. • Approve timecards and provide performance feedback to on‑site team members. • Serve as primary liaison with owners and on‑site representatives, addressing site concerns. • Administer change orders and secure customer/architect approvals. • Maintain project schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, and compliance through completion. • Ensure compliance with construction law, Mortenson policies, and EE‑O/affirmative action guidelines.

What You Bring

Qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience, a valid driver’s license, and proven ability to handle complex projects. Candidates must be detail‑oriented, possess basic knowledge of construction law, be proficient with Microsoft Office and project‑related web applications, and demonstrate strong communication, active listening, and inclusive collaboration skills while understanding EE‑O and affirmative action policies. Project Manager 1 positions require a minimum of six years of construction management experience with a base pay range of $113,500 to $170,300. Project Manager 2 positions require seven years of experience on large projects ($20M+) with a base pay range of $132,100 to $198,200, plus higher ranges for select locations. Base pay is set based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or equivalent experience and a valid driver’s license. • Demonstrate at least 6–7 years of construction management experience, including large ($20M+) projects for PM‑2. • Proficient with Microsoft Office, project management software, and relevant web applications. • Exhibit strong communication, active‑listening, and inclusive collaboration skills.
