About the Role

The Class C Lineman – Transmission is an entry‑level position focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. Linemen work at various sites and may be required to travel out‑of‑state to meet customer demands. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized transmission lines safely. • String overhead wire and sag wire from structures or buckets. • Set poles, anchors, and basic line structures, including de‑energized pole structures in the air. • Operate aerial devices, ladders, and buckets to work at height or in confined spaces. • Assemble and erect transmission towers of all heights. • Install and remove all types of compression connections and Kellum grips. • Assist with inspecting structural problems and recognizing material types. • Apply proper grounding, flag, and tag procedures and maintain minimum approach distances. • Tie lineman knots, make and use a hand line, and perform basic bucket rescue/escape techniques. • Properly install, inspect, and remove PPE, rubber goods, and covers. • Climb wood, steel, or other structures using appropriate tools. • Follow company safety rules, policies, and equipment set‑up protocols. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency service calls as required.

What You Bring

Successful candidates must work safely on both energized and de‑energized lines, perform tasks such as stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, and operate aerial devices. They must also maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment, and be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Candidates must possess relevant field experience, meet licensing requirements, be physically capable of handling the demands of the job, and be willing to travel and work flexible hours including overtime. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, climbing, and handling of tools while hearing and speaking are regularly required. The work environment may expose the employee to fumes, dust, odors, or poor ventilation, and strict safety and PPE protocols must be followed. • Work productively outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement weather. • Perform rigorous physical labor, including lifting over 50 lb. • Travel to various locations and be prepared for long‑distance travel on short notice. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment (CDL preferred). • Communicate effectively in English and read technical documents such as blueprints. • Demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and a customer‑oriented attitude.
