About the Role
The Substation Electrical EIT position supports design for both large and small‑scale substation projects, offering a strong growth path for self‑directed engineers. Working alongside senior staff, the role involves protection and control design, schematic development, and quality‑control reviews while mentoring junior team members. • Perform protection and control designs under senior engineering supervision. • Develop schematic and wiring designs under senior engineering supervision. • Assign project tasks and guide junior team members on complex projects. • Conduct quality‑control reviews of work performed by junior and mid‑level engineers. • Collaborate with senior engineers to build technical expertise and attend training seminars. • Assist in creating technical papers or presentations showcasing HDR’s capabilities. • Perform ad‑hoc quality‑control reviews for projects from other teams. • Work independently and mentor less‑experienced EITs or designers.

What You Bring
• Proficient with standard industry design software. • Hold or be able to obtain an EIT license (initial title may be Substation Electrical Designer). • Prior consulting firm experience. • Local candidate preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Minimum five years of substation design experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
