About the Role
The Structures Project Manager will work within the Bridge program, overseeing planning, direction, and monitoring of large multi‑discipline or medium‑sized transportation projects with high technical complexity. Responsibilities include client relationship management, marketing support, schematic design development, contract document coordination, staffing oversight, and collaboration with business, accounting, and departmental leaders throughout the project lifecycle. • Lead planning, directing, and monitoring of large or medium multi‑discipline transportation projects. • Coordinate production and scheduling of multiple bridge projects simultaneously. • Build and maintain client relationships; support marketing and contractual design meetings. • Conduct schematic design development and manage contract document sessions on‑site with multidisciplinary teams. • Oversee staffing, workload distribution, and document delivery throughout project phases. • Collaborate with business/accounting managers, project controllers, and department leaders for project reviews.

What You Bring
HDR looks for candidates with solid engineering education and professional licensure, as well as demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and business‑development skills. A commitment to the employee‑owned culture and active participation in an inclusive workplace are essential. • Hold an MS degree in Structural Engineering and a Pennsylvania PE license (or obtain within 6 months). • Possess at least 10 years of bridge/structural design experience, especially with PennDOT projects. • Proficient in MicroStation, structural analysis, bridge design software, and Microsoft Office suite. • Thorough knowledge of the LRFD Bridge Design Code. • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentorship abilities. • Ability to manage multiple assignments and lead business development efforts. • Experience managing staff, clients, and contracts; local candidates preferred. • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7 years related experience. • At least 2 years of project‑management experience and a valid professional engineering license for the job location. • Skilled in MS Office and MS Project (Access a plus); exhibit leadership and commitment to employee‑owned culture.
