Job Highlights
About the Role
The Solutions Engineer role at DP World focuses on supporting the design of supply chain solutions across the full scale spectrum as part of the RFQ process. Working closely with regional teams, the engineer translates operational briefs into accurate, compelling proposals and develops concepts such as process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts in both 2‑D and 3‑D formats. This function bridges the engineering discipline with business development and operational stakeholders. Core accountabilities include collaborating with Business Development, Account Management, Launch and Operations teams to shape solutions, presenting technical proposals to customers through calls and presentations, and converting awarded RFQ concepts into detailed post‑award designs. The role also leads the engineering delivery for new business launches—creating master data, validating processes, overseeing infrastructure work, onboarding plant teams, and managing onsite contractors—while consistently acting as an ambassador for DP World’s safety, values, and ethics. The engineer serves as the interface between regional functions and the wider business, ensuring engineering alignment with operations throughout the RFQ and launch phases. Responsibilities extend to contributing to regional and global initiatives, performing MTM assessments, supplying quantifiable performance data, troubleshooting operational issues, and conducting root‑cause analyses with corrective actions. Additionally, the role supports the training and development of plant‑based engineering teams and acts as a subject‑matter expert on tools such as MTM, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Excel. • Design supply chain solutions of varying scale for RFQ processes. • Create process flow diagrams, KPIs, and 2D/3D facility layouts for customer proposals. • Collaborate with Business Development, Account Management, Launch, and Operations teams. • Present technical solutions to customers via proposals, calls, and presentations. • Transform RFQ concepts into detailed designs after award. • Lead engineering delivery for new business launches, including master data creation and process validation. • Manage onsite contractor activities during launch phases. • Serve as DP World ambassador, upholding safety and ethical standards. • Interface between regional functions and other business areas. • Align engineering activities with operations during RFQ and launch phases. • Translate operational briefs into actionable solution proposals. • Contribute to regional and global initiative implementation. • Conduct MTM process assessments and updates. • Provide quantifiable data on individual and functional contributions. • Troubleshoot operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. • Work independently on site to meet engineering obligations. • Train and develop plant‑based engineering teams and embed regional standards. • Act as Subject Matter Expert on MTM, AutoCAD, SketchUp, visualization, and Excel. • Empathize with clients and champion their requirements within engineering. • Analyze data to draw solid conclusions. • Maintain meticulous attention to detail. • Prioritize results, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive “can‑do” attitude. • Protect confidentiality of company information.
