About the Role

The role requires determining well‑defined methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data on substation components and equipment specifications for procurement packages, design work, and compliance with IEEE, NESC, and NERC standards. Key duties include reviewing third‑party design documents, producing detailed electrical designs such as single‑line, three‑line, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, grounding grids, and lightning‑protection systems, and integrating future‑ready techniques, equipment sizing, AC/DC panel, and conduit designs while ensuring safety and functionality. The position supports senior engineers with component research and field equipment recommendations, demands ethical decision‑making regarding company resources, and requires adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Collect, compile, and analyze substation component data for procurement packages and design compliance. • Review and advise on third‑party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans. • Create single‑line, three‑line, wiring, layout, grounding, and lightning‑protection designs per applicable standards. • Integrate future‑ready concepts, equipment sizing, AC/DC panel, conduit, and trenching designs for safety and functionality. • Support senior engineers with component research and field equipment recommendations. • Exercise ethical decision‑making regarding company resources and follow WSP’s Code of Conduct.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 5‑7 years of design experience on large capital projects, EIT certification (PE preferred), US citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret/Top Secret clearance, and proficiency in operations, project controls, and safety policies, while preferred qualifications include an active Secret/Top Secret clearance. Relocation assistance is not available, but WSP offers a flexible workplace and comprehensive benefits. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). • 5–7 years of electrical design experience on large capital projects. • Engineer‑in‑Training certification; Professional Engineer preferred. • US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret/Top Secret clearance. • Experience with operations and project controls for reporting and proposal development. • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build, permitting, and safety policies.
