About the Role
In this role you will oversee commercial risk, procurement processes and contract management for complex sustainment activities, applying ASDEFCON frameworks and government procurement policies. You will provide commercial advice, support tender clarifications and negotiate with prime contractors to achieve favourable outcomes. Downer plans, creates and sustains integrated services across Australia and New Zealand, delivering design, build and maintenance of assets, infrastructure and facilities. • Draft liability risk assessments and identify commercial risks with treatment strategies. • Develop procurement artefacts such as ETPs, evaluation plans/reports and manage procurement schedules. • Draft and tailor contractual documents (CoT, CoC, SOW) for complex sustainment activities using ASDEFCON frameworks. • Provide commercial advice and support tender clarifications on contractual, financial and commercial matters. • Assist in negotiations with prime contractors to secure favourable procurement outcomes. • Maintain a current Negative Vetting 1 (or higher) security clearance; ITAR compliance may be required. • Work on critical defence projects that protect Australia’s future. • Access career mapping, accelerated learning programmes and Communities of Practice.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds formal qualifications in contracting and procurement (Certificate IV or higher) and has strong experience in government procurement, contract management and risk mitigation. In‑depth knowledge of Commonwealth procurement policies, proven stakeholder management skills and prior experience within CASG or Defence environments are required, together with a current Negative Vetting 1 security clearance (or higher). • Hold a Certificate IV (or higher) in contracting and procurement. • Demonstrated experience in government procurement and contract management, including risk mitigation. • In‑depth knowledge of the PGPA Act and ASDEFCON documentation. • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and provide commercial advice. • Prior experience working within CASG or Defence environments.
