About the Role

The HVAC Truck‑Based Service Manager (TBSM) role supports this mission by managing a truck‑based HVAC service team. In this position you will provide day‑to‑day leadership and operational management for a service team that includes mechanics and support staff, overseeing a multi‑million‑dollar annual revenue portfolio. You will partner closely with branch leadership and cross‑functional teams to meet commitments, grow the business, and ensure world‑class customer satisfaction. Key duties include coaching and developing technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, and conducting regular safety tailboards, ride‑alongs, and coaching sessions. You will ensure rigorous compliance with safety programs, company policies, and regulatory requirements. You will own P&L performance, driving revenue growth, margin expansion, accurate forecasting, and disciplined cost control. Planning capacity and workforce mix, reviewing staffing needs, and initiating requisitions to maintain the right labor balance are essential responsibilities. Scheduling, dispatch, and work‑quality oversight will be managed to meet service level agreements, while you track operational KPIs such as backlog, WIP, productivity, warranty, and delivery quality. You will champion digital tools and standard work to improve scheduling accuracy, documentation quality, and field productivity. • Lead and develop a truck‑based HVAC service team, including mechanics and support staff. • Ensure safety compliance through tailboards, ride‑alongs, and adherence to company policies. • Own P&L for the service portfolio, driving revenue growth and margin expansion. • Plan capacity, workforce mix, and staffing to align with financial targets. • Oversee scheduling, dispatch, and work‑quality to meet service level agreements. • Track and improve operational KPIs such as backlog, productivity, and warranty performance. • Champion digital tools and standardized processes to boost field productivity. • Use data‑driven decision making to align workforce capacity with demand. • Collaborate with branch service managers, customer service agents, technical leads, and operations to remove obstacles. • Build and maintain customer relationships through key account reviews and escalation resolution.

What You Bring
The role requires strong knowledge of air‑cooled chillers, light and heavy commercial HVAC equipment, proven experience leading truck‑based field service teams, and financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
