About the Role
The role involves implementing and managing drafting and plan preparation standards, developing technical drawings and plans, and producing and quality‑checking complex drawings while performing multifaceted calculations. The incumbent works with minimal supervision, applies engineering principles, maintains the drawing database, supervises and trains CAD staff, coordinates activities to meet schedules and quality standards, and becomes familiar with Kimley‑Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards. • Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards. • Develop technical drawings and plans; produce and quality‑check complex drawings. • Perform multifaceted calculations with minimal supervision. • Apply engineering principles and suggest design changes. • Maintain drawing database and supervise/train CAD staff. • Coordinate work activities to meet schedules and ensure quality control. • Set up and manage printing/plotting settings. • Mentor and teach team members while exhibiting strong work ethic and communication skills.

What You Bring
Our Boca-Delray, Florida (FL) office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Development Services team. Candidates must have 8+ years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred), and the ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products, a strong work ethic, excellent communication and writing skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, a willingness to mentor, and a detail‑oriented, professional attitude are required. • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley software. • Exhibit detail‑orientation, self‑starting initiative, and collaborative teamwork.
