About the Role
In this role you will gain exposure to all areas of water engineering, including dams, hydro projects, water infrastructure and flood‑resilience assessments. Responsibilities include hydraulic and hydrological modelling, producing clear technical reports, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and collaborating with designers, environmental scientists, planners and engineers. • Undertake hydraulic and hydrological modelling (TUFLOW, URBS, XP RAFTS, WBNM). • Mentor and provide assistance to junior team members. • Produce clear, concise technical reports. • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. • Perform flood modelling of creek, river systems and overland flow paths. • Model pipe drainage networks and stormwater quality treatment trains. • Collaborate with designers, environmental scientists, planners and engineers. • Interact with clients to build long‑lasting relationships.

What You Bring
The Water Resources team is expanding and is looking for an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer to deliver projects across Queensland while supporting the national team, working flexibly from the South Brisbane or Maroochydore offices. • Hold a tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering. • Possess 5–10+ years of flood modelling experience. • RPEQ registration or eligibility is highly regarded. • Familiarity with Australian Rainfall and Runoff guidelines. • Demonstrated experience using TUFLOW and other hydrologic modelling software. • Proficient in GIS packages such as QGIS, MapInfo or ArcGIS. • Strong communication, interpersonal and consulting skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. • Desirable: experience with MUSIC and water‑balance software (e.g., Goldsim).
