About the Role
The Safety Specialist will implement and enforce safety programs, identify hazardous conditions, conduct inspections of equipment and work areas, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment. Responsibilities also include delivering new‑hire orientation, OSHA 10‑hour training, regular safety meetings, and developing training sessions for managers and workers. Additional duties involve investigating incidents, performing root‑cause analysis, preparing health‑ and safety metric reports, and providing recommendations to prevent re‑occurrences. The specialist will also mentor employees, manage the site mentoring program, travel to support other sites, and participate in an on‑call rotation for safety issues. • Conduct daily safety inspections and behavior‑based observations across the plant. • Identify and mitigate hazardous conditions, equipment, and processes. • Deliver new‑hire orientation, OSHA 10‑hour, and ongoing safety training to staff. • Ensure proper use and storage of personal protective equipment and hazardous materials. • Investigate incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. • Prepare and analyze health‑ and safety metrics, including scorecards and indicator reports. • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, manuals, and training materials. • Mentor employees, manage the site mentoring program, and support on‑call safety rotations. • Coordinate with supervisors, managers, customers, and external parties on safety matters. • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, incidents, and safety equipment inventory.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least three years of safety or industrial experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a 30‑hour general‑industry certification (or an associate degree/5 years experience). Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and effective facilitation, interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management abilities are required. The role demands the ability to lift up to 50 lb, work at heights, operate hand and power tools, and wear a respirator when necessary. Employees will be exposed to noisy, hazardous environments with moving machinery, chemicals, and extreme temperature conditions. • Meet physical requirements: lift up to 50 lb, navigate stairs/ladders, use hand/power tools, wear respirator. • Possess at least 3 years safety experience, high school diploma/GED, and a 30‑hour general‑industry certification (or associate degree/5 years experience). • Demonstrate strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and effective facilitation and interpersonal abilities.

Benefits
The position offers a salary up to $33.80 per hour, depending on experience, with a standard schedule of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Employees receive weekly pay, comprehensive benefits starting day one, a Daily Pay Program, advancement opportunities, and company‑provided safety apparel and uniforms. Compensation ranges from $28.73 to $33.80 per hour, complemented by a full benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, retirement, and life/disability insurance.
